New BBC Dinosaur program. Being an avid fan of ‘Walking with Dinosaurs’ I can’t wait for this new series, the dinosaurs have feathers :D

This is Mr. December in my Dinosaur Calendar!… well… a colour thumbnail of it anyway!
It’s going to be a leaellynasaura, which is a small dinosaur that lived in Early Cretaceous in australia which at the time was in that Antarctic circle so the area experiences prolonged darkness and extreme cold.
I personally think that to live the way they’re described to live they’d need some sord of feathering on their bodies to survive and so I’m going to illustrate mine in that way. I’m also going to make him in a very wintery colour theme. I also see no reason his feathery plumage wouldn’t change colour with the seasons like a ptarmigan to create better camouflage against the polar allosaurus which would also be hunting in the winter, so lighter snowy plumage would make sense for them. Having said that, I’m an artists not a palaeontologist. Maybe there is something I’m missing from the facts but it’s funner for me to theorize and make up some stuff to give little stories to my illustrations and hopefully make my concepts a little more unique :)

Im at the big animatronic dino show at science world. Not as big as i thought the exibit would be but still awesome. Feathered dinos in cute reetro looking exhibits.
the only thing was their arms were all wrong.
